Spirit Lake Stage @ Hulaween 2017

In October 2017, Jay Rosen’s Geodesic Dome inspired local artist Melissa Hebin in her architectural design of the Spirit Lake Stage. The stage, a 100-ft outdoor concert stage with cobweb of ropes and projections, was assembled by Melissa’s team at Elesital Sound in studio and on-site. Over 30,000 concert goers witnessed the stage in the week long Halloween Festival.

For this production, Jay sculpted and cut metal sculptures, welded, painted ropes, tied different knots, and climbed ladders to suspend ropes to trees, and documented stage performances.

The stage was designed to be a visually stunning addition to the festival, and it did not disappoint. The intricate web of ropes and projections created a truly ethereal atmosphere, and the stage itself was a work of art
