Kiss

December 2012. 01:32. Rotoscoped montage short film

This video montage explores the subjective visual wanderings one may experience while kissing. With eyes closed, focusing on the physical feeling of a kiss and embrace – what does one mentally visualize? What is felt and sensed guides the visual journey into a strange, ambiguous territory; an altered state of consciousness like that of sleeping dreams. In this montage, the couple’s bodies (or select parts of their bodies) are physically removed and replaced by the unconscious thoughts. The human-form silhouette is maintained to sustain the activity of kissing.

The video footage comes from John Waters’ feature film Cry Baby (1990) and various other sources from the internet.
