Maps of LIFE

2012. sizes vary. LIFE magazine, road maps, watercolor paint, colored pencil, gesso

The systems of pathways within the human body, resemble structures found in nature, such as roads, rivers, train tracks – all different forms of transportation keeping the larger organism of society alive. When appropriated individually, these persons become metaphoric countries, composed of towns with personal histories. When two or more figures interact, they become physically or mentally entangled, sharing a moment of time and space, with an illustrated road connecting the bodies together.
