Johnny Silverhand costume was created shortly after the announcement of the character at E3 2019. The costume was created within a month during July 2019 using EVA foam for the arm and modifying a tactical vest. The costume was created using few reference photos as the videogame wouldn’t release until December 2020. Because this was one of the 1st cosplays created for the unreleased game, photos of the vest circled around CyberPunk community, with fake online stores attempting to sell the Samurai vest.
