2012 3′ x 1′ x 1′ Mirrors, acetate film, blacklight, glow-in-dark ink, wood My first hand-built occular device – a hybrid kaleidoscope / telescope. Maps of constellations are drawn on acetate film, reflected by mirrors to produce an endless net of floating stars. This triangular prism of mirrors fits the viewer’s head, allowing for total immersion in the glowing psychadelic spacescape. Originally built in early 2012 out of foam board and too much silcone caulk, it was re-created a year later in wood for the opening reception of Phenomena.
